Duplicate items
Reported by Anh Quang Do | March 21st, 2010 @ 08:41 PM | in 1.03
I'm using 20couch 1.01. Lately I experienced a lot of duplicate items in my list. When I open 20couch and click Refresh, the loading message shows and vanishes after a few seconds without any changes to the list. I click the Refresh button again and this time got some items in the list. All of them are duplicated as you could see in the screenshot, but the item count on the title bar is correct (2 items in this case).

FYI, click the Refresh button the third time makes the duplicate items go away.

I notice that if I leave 20couch open for a long time and come back that I see the duplicates. If I hit the browser's refresh button the dups go away.

I've also seen some duplicates.
Never even bothered to report since it went away with either Browser refresh or 20Couch refresh.Matt, could it be something with the asynchronous manner jQuery deals with repeated refresh button press?
I know this is daft, but should refresh button presses be processed synchronously? Just a thought :P -

I abort any open requests when the refresh is hit, so that should deal w/ the async issue. I made a few tweaks - I hope this will be better.

Hummm, nice. That would definitely deal with the async thing.
Will give more input on this if I remember to look for it :)

Unfortunately it's been happening to me also but it's intermittent.
I just hate those :(And I can't even put my finger on what happened the last time.
I know I left it open for quite a while. Was in the middle of page, meaning that the scroll bar had the grab thing around the middle.
Sat down, began to read and all of a sudden I recognized some of the tweets. They were duplicates. But I cannot, for the life of me, pin point what went wrong or what were the conditions.

New information:
I've noticed that it happens every now and again, but I think I can reproduce if I close the browser with some tweets not cleared and after a while restart the browser and point to it.
Most of the times I leave it with less than five tweets and I return to have more than 100.
I could be mistaken, but I think that the repeated tweets come after the ones I left uncleared.
Dunno if it's pertinent but it's a pattern :)

Bad news: I'm experiencing it in 1.0.5.
I think what I did was launching 20couch and waiting a few seconds after the 'Loading' message showed up. It said 'No results', which I was sure it's wrong since I follow a handful of people. So I clicked Refresh and here it went: Duplicated items again.
Also, I often notice something funny (not sure if it's worth a new ticket or actually related to this problem): Often 20couch displays the 'No results' message, and if I wait a few seconds, all the new tweets start pouring in. Maybe if I click the Refresh button in between such moments, the duplicate items show up somehow.

I've been seeing duplicate items since upgrading to 1.08. I get a block of about 10 or 15 tweets which are then repeated.
Unfortunately haven't been able to test if refreshing fixes it as all the read tweets then disappear
